We have a requirement for *QA LEAD for 3-4* Months in MA.
*Location: Boston,MA.
Duration: 4 Months.*

*Role: QA LEAD*

*CLIENT:* Our client provides services for credit ratings, indices,
investment research, risk evaluation and data. Projects include supporting,
enhancing and changing their clients web applications by hosting their
frameworks. (example Fidelity ‘s online calculators are really powered and
supported by our client.
*Project:* Projects include enhancements to their multiple web
calculator models by changing the front end to Flash/Ajax from Java. There
are also other projects that touch this application where a Java developer
is needed. This is a Web Application building platform
*This Role:* There are no automating testing tools at this time. Right
now the expectations of this person is for them to perform manual testing on
their products written in Java , Linux and Unix. They use an Ajax
framework. He does not want his java developers researching bugs and
defects, he wants this person to dig up the info and give it to his
developer to fix. He would look into purchasing or utilizing an open system
test tool (Free) if this person demonstrates and proves the value for it but
that is an after thought. It is a small environment so I don’t want
candidates that worked in a group of 5-10 testers. Financial services
background. Great communication skills
*3 POINTS ON THE REQUIREMENT*
1. NO JUNIT-
2. This person has to be creative and not a nine to fiver type. The person
has be good with documentation (samples) as they need to be able to write up
these docs in word or excel and save them on the network.
3. Tools- they dont have to have these specific Open Source tools but have
to have experience with toll have experience with similar tools and go the
extra mile to download and set up in the test environment without bugging
the manager.
1. SPLUNK - LOGVIEWING TOOL (list of all the errors they are getting)
2. jMETER - they use this for perfomance test (see how fast web pages
load, continuos page verification)
3. Selenium- USing as a REGRESSION TEST - use on their UI automation
(any code that is automated or reused this tool is good for)
So automated tools like rational or Mercury wont suffice-need to be open
source
Their environment is part waterfall as they need documentation to provide
their end clients so they can bill and Agile/TDD where they test at the same
time they develop

We are looking for a QA engineer to add to our small testing team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Working with QA manager and development team to continually
improve testing efficiency, expand coverage, and increase product
reliability
· Perform hands-on testing, including: Integration, functional,
stress, regression and multi browser testing
· Reading backend log files for possible errors
· Writing SQL queries for database testing
· Creating, updating and executing test plans for a wide variety of
projects and changes
*Required Qualifications & Skills:*
· Experience working in a fast-paced web environment with frequent
code releases, changing priorities, and multiple responsibilities to balance
· Experience testing large web applications
· Understanding of QA methodology, and the software development
lifecycle
· Strong working knowledge of SQL
· Working knowledge of Oracle 10G
· Working knowledge of PL/SQL, Java and CVS preferred
· Web Servers knowledge - Apache, Tomcat
· Working knowledge of internet/web technologies such as HTTP, HTML,
XML, JavaScript, CSS, and DOJO
· Experience working with test automation tools
· Experience working with Load/Performance testing tools
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, debugging and
analytical skills.
