*Location: NYC* *Rate: Open * *Duration: 6 – 12 Months* *Interview: In-person*** * * *Calypso Production Support Consultant with Foreign Exchange and, or Precious Metal experience. * *Job Description for Calypso role**: * Management of production systems, manage incidents that may occur as they occur. Working with users, developers, infrastructure and change management teams to ensure that the stability of the production systems is not jeopardized Ensure that all regulatory requirements are adhered to. Work with off shore support teams Craft ad hoc SQL queries, scripts, etc. to provide the information/tools that the users may seek from time to time Run risk analyses on portfolios Ensure that batch jobs are run on time, without incidents Document any breaches of Service Level Agreements, provide detailed write ups on the root cause and solutions to prevent recurrence Take a self starter approach to designing new procedures and policies, come up with creative solutions that could result in improvements in key performance indicators of the trading platform -- such as reduced batch durations, better and more intuitive ways of achieving the same end goal, etc. Good Understanding of trade workflows, with good knowledge of the gamut of various phases in a trade life cycle (inception, periodic risk analysis, operations, product control etc) Flexibility in working on shifts including occasional weekends; be ready to come into the office by 7 AM on the days when morning shift is assigned, and to stay until 8 PM on days when evening shift is assigned Ability to intuitively assess the impact of issues raised to the Support team, and escalate issues as and when necessary for prompt attention and resolution Ability to review Java code and spot any inefficiencies/bugs Collaborate with the development teams to permanently fix any problems or incidents encountered in production *Good knowledge of Calypso application is a must ** *At least 5 years of experience in Java programming *Perl programming experience is a strong plus, but not essential* Thanks & Regards, *Pavan Kumar* *VST Consulting Inc*.
