Rate: Open POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Senior Programmer/Analyst and Developer DEPARTMENT: Information Systems REPORTS TO: Director, Application Development OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and maintain client’s software applications, including functional analysis, technical design, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. Work with and support a small team of developers with varying levels of experience. The position requires the ability to work effectively with many departments to deliver high quality software solutions. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: · *Lead design sessions with Business Analysts and/or end users to define functional requirements and specifications.* · Work with Business Analysts and DBA to develop logical and physical database designs. · Support a small team of java developers in the technical design and development of custom applications. · Work with DBA in performance testing and tuning of custom applications. · Assist in the creation of work estimates and project plans. · Provide second tier support for production applications. · Work with IS management to develop and implement policies and procedures for software development and maintenance. · Take a lead role in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and tools used in software development. · Create and maintain technical documentation. · Handle special projects, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred. · *Java developer and architect certification preferred.* · *Minimum of 7 years of object-oriented design and programming experience*. · Java J2EE, JavaScript · *Struts, Hibernate, JSP, Servlets* · *Eclipse2, ANT, CVS* · Familiarity with relational database design · SQL programming · Experience building/deploying applications on Web sphere Application Server SKILLS REQUIRED: · Able to deliver high quality software solutions on time and on budget. · Strong team player.
