Please send me profiles ASAP to [email protected] Location: NYC Duration: 6 months face to Face might be needed Role: Technical Business Analyst with Fixed Income experience The Fixed Income Rates IT team supports and develops front office technology used by the interest rate products desk. The IT team is split between several global locatins. Rates is a growth area within the firm. There are currently three major IT initiative steams in this area focused on Electronic Trading, Risk, and Core Trading systems. Together with a number of business aligned RAD teams, we deliver key value-adding functionality to the trading desks. Our clients are primarily front office and will also include interaction with members of operations, product control, financial control and risk. We seek an individual to perform business and technical analysis for the high profile global blotter consolidation project. * Work with business and IT users to develop and document functional specifications * Work with development team to convert functional specifications to technical specifications. * Assist in developing and implementation of test strategies and cases Experience and skill sets that will be needed in the role are - 2+ years professional IT experience as a Business Analyst and/or Technical Analyst. Data architecture / modelling experience strongly desired. Well versed in SDLC. SQL proficiency (Sybase, Oracle or MS) strongly desired. Ability to quickly develop a strong understanding of the Rates business. The right candidate for this role will have had previous experience working as a developer, and more recently moved in to a Business Analyst role. Previous electronic trading project work required. Work Experience Essential Must have 2+ years professional IT experience as a Business Analyst and/or Technical Analyst Should have 2+ years professional IT experience as a Project Manager ( secondary ) Recent experience in Investment Bank - Fixed Income area facing off to business users Desired * Understanding front to back system flows * Prior experience working with trading desk users Technical/Business skills Essential * SQL (Sybase, Oracle or MS) * UNIX * Ability to read C++ or C# or JAVA or VB Education BA or BS required Other Requirements * Problem solving skills * Ability to deliver in functionally aligned organization with teams that are distributed geographically * Manage deliverables within timelines * Multitasking * Ability to work on an alternate schedule On a rotational basis (approximately once every 2-3 months) candidate will provide coverage for trading desk beginning at 7 am EST We are expecting a healthy and long relationship with you and your company.
