Position: 1 Title: UNIX Server Engineer Duration :6 months Location: Dublin, OH, USA We are currently accepting resumes for a *UNIX Server Engineer *in Dublin, Ohio. *The selected candidate will perform the following duties:* - Responsible for the administration and support of UNIX and Linux systems located in various data centers across the United States - Provides 7x24 support for IBM P-Series, Suse Linux, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, HP Alpha, and various storage and backup systems - Server environments include test, development, QA, stage and production systems - Provide fast response using good judgment and sound troubleshooting skills during normal working hours, off hours and weekends - Troubleshoot hardware, O/S and software infrastructure components; facilitate vendor replacement/upgrades of failed hardware and escalate problems; and communicate with appropriate support and development teams and customers - Perform general administration duties such as security administration, patching, storage setup, capacity management, and user administration - Requires individual contributions as well as the responsibility to lead and manage team projects *Required Skills and Experience:* - Experience with many of the following technologies: IBM P-Series hardware, AIX 5.3, Suse Linux, HP-UX 11.x, SUN OS, HP9000 RPxx/L Class Servers, IBM Storage and EMC DMX/Clariion (Fiber Channel), Server Virtualization (VIO), Veritas NetBackup Server, Veritas Volume Manager/HP, Veritas HA, IBM HACMP, LVM, Redhat Linux (Enterprise Server and Fedora) - Four to six years experience with HP and IBM server hardware running the UNIX operating systems in a Cisco\Bay Networks environment - Proficiency with basic system administration tools - Proficiency in O/S patching - Proficiency with the installation and administration of the various UNIX operating systems, networked printing and third party support applications (e.g. SMS, PC Duo, etc.) - A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server configuration, network management, network file services and network naming services - Proficiency with network security, backup methods and physical security. - Experience with TCP/IP networking - Proficiency in installation and resolution of hardware problems with network cabling and network devices such as routers and switches - Experience with applications that require 99.9% uptime - Experience/knowledge of inter-networking (i.e. communications of different operating systems) *Preferred Skills and Experience:* - Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (for example, Perl or a shell) - SOX remediation and compliance skills Regards, Sreevalli
