This client is heavy into Microsoft and requires someone experienced in Database ( SQL 2008 ) Development, including queries, stored procedures, database / query tuning, etc., along with C# ( not as an applications developer ). This person will focus on tuning the databases where data will be extracted from and loaded to, which will allow the ETL team to focus on ETL logic. This person will likely be involved in working with application teams and developing interfaces to other data sources. The selected candidate will be strong on the messaging / communications layer with experience optimizing communication between an application and the underlying database. *Requirements: ** Experience with MS SQL 2008 and .NET 3.5. * Experience with object-relational mapping ( ORM ) techniques. * Deep experience building interfaces between applications and databases, perhaps using ODBC or OLEDB. * Experience with message queues and web service integration. * Experience in a data warehouse environment. * Experience working in an environment with large volumes of data. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. 2) Data Warehousing Developer Number of Openings: 1 Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago *(**LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY or Need to come In-person**) *Start Date: ASAP Our client has an immediate need for an experienced Data Warehousing Developer for a contract opportunity scheduled to run through the end of 2010. This client is primarily a Microsoft environment, and requires someone with solid experience in the same. Opportunity to work on a variety of projects during this time. The primary focus will be on development, testing and deployment, though some design may be required. *Requirements: ** Enterprise scale Data Warehouse experience in a SQL Server environment. * Strong database design skills to optimize SSAS performance using ROLAP storage method. * Deep data design expertise in modeling, partitioning, etc. * Experience working with large Data Warehouses as measured in TBs. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, but can also work independently. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 3) ETL Developer Number of Openings: 1 Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago *(**LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY or Need to come In-person**) *Start Date: ASAP Our client has an immediate need for an ETL Developer for a contract opportunity scheduled to run through the end of 2010. The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Architecture, advising on multiple concurrent projects. Your primary focus will be design, though hands-on experience with development, testing and deployment is also required. This is a heavy Microsoft environment, and the candidate selected should have solid background in the same. *Requirements:* * Enterprise scale Data Warehouse experience in a SQL Server environment. * Experience working with large Data Warehouses as measured in TBs. * Strong knowledge of all aspects of Data Warehousing: ETL, Staging, DW, Data Marts, OLAP cubes, etc. * Deep data design expertise in modeling, best practices, etc. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, but can also work independently. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. 5) SSIS Developer Number of Openings: 1 Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago *(**LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY **or Need to come In-person**) *Start Date: ASAP Our client has an immediate need for an experienced SSIS Developer in the Western Suburbs of Chicago to work on a contract scheduled to run through the end of 2010. The candidate selected will be part of the team responsible for re-architecting the Data Warehouse.
