We have an excellent position for *MS SQL Programmer: San Antonio, TX* * * Duration:6+ Months (High possibility of extension)* *Please forward your resumes to [email protected] * * *JOB DESCRIPTON:* ** The candidate filling this Application Programmer Intermediate position will be responsible for converting the MS Access exports to the client item bank to MS SQL, enhancing, testing and verifying the application, maintaining and adding items to existing programs, and general maintenance of existing programs and reports. Work will be done using VBA scripts and MS SQL query language. Also responsible for working with Editorial and the Art Dept. to import items into item bank; prepare necessary reports for client reviews, and troubleshooting any item bank issues. Candidate will have to follow SR&T’s newly rolled out SDLC process and will be accountable for producing artifacts required by SDLC process. Experience with* Power Designer tools is a plus. * *Responsibilities*: The ideal candidate will be responsible for: · Converting MS Access exports to MS SQL · Creating and testing the exports · importing items from Word templates using VBA scripts · maintaining item Meta data in MS SQL Server data base · preparing reports of items for Client reviews · Exporting data to other applications for client use · Executing multiple priorities at the same time *Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* The ideal candidate must be an outstanding technical expert, and have at least 3 years of programming experience with a minimum of 1 year experience with databases and SQL. Experience in large database applications is preferred. Knowledge of educational assessments and item banking is a plus, but not required. Must be able to work under tight time frames, maintaining composure and professionalism at all times. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * · VB 6.0, VB.NET preferred. · VBA · WORD Automation · SQL, ORACLE 9i and above · MS Access · Familiarity with XML · Experience in reading object oriented application code developed using Java/J2EE technologies and familiarity with pure J2EE and Java technologies is a plus. · Good interpersonal skills in order to interact with clients, technical staff, and third parties. · Windows OS, UNIX/LINUX *Education*: The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, with coursework in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary
