Position: Lead Linux Administrators Rate: ALAP
Contract: 6 PLUS Months Location: Mountain View, CA Priority for Locals or Certification As systems engineer one will be responsible for building innovative and highly automated solutions that include rapid provisioning of both physical and virtualized environments. The right candidate will have a passion for excellence, an eye for detail, a knack for problem-solving. Team members will interact directly with developers leveraging strong communication skills as they capture technical requirements and resolve complex technical issues. Team members will also work across the Intuit IT organization (IIT) to leverage expertise and corporate processes to ensure the ability to scale deployed solutions and leverage best practices. Team members will have opportunities to work with a wide range of cutting-edge software and hardware technologies. TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL SKILLS · Extensive experience (10+ years) with Linux operating systems · Solid understanding of networking technologies and troubleshooting · Solid understanding of Storage technologies and applications. NAS/SAN/VERITAS experience helpful · Knowledge of web/app server implementations, like JBoss/OAS/Weblogic/Apache · Experience with Veritas Storage Foundation Suite as well as Veritas and Microsoft clustering technologies. · Knowledge of ITIL or ITSM principals will be helpful · Demonstrable experience influencing business requirements that drive technical solutions, using sound business acumen and technical expertise · Experience identifying and driving the adoption of best practices and emerging standards · Effectively communicates these to architects, their peers and within their Technical Track · Highly quality orientation and customer focus. Ability to influence and drive appropriate levels of quality on technical solutions for complex problems and processes · BS in Communications Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience Primary Responsibilities: a.. Deliver operations through a customer-focused approach : As Systems Engineer you will focus on the day to day operations of our rapidly expanding web-based offerings, ensuring service scalability and reliability. b.. Installation and configuration task at OS and App layer. c.. Participate in a 24x7 critical issue support rotation d.. Assist in software release including process and delivery e..
