This position will support a project involving a self-service kiosk that allows consumers to trade-in movies and games for credit towards another purchase. The Entertainment hardware consists of a kiosk, peripherals, and robotics all contained within a custom enclosure. The supporting software consists of a user interface for the kiosk, robotic control, hardware instrumentation, inventory management, gift card fulfillment, and centralized reporting capabilities. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Applicant will be responsible for the following: Coding software which meets requirements, promotes re-use of software components, and facilitates ease of support. Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code. Utilizing software based system maintenance and tracking tools. Providing input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials and customer training. Conducting unit tests, tracking problems, and implementing changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional requirements. Analyzing, designing and implement software mechanisms to improve code stability, performance and reusability. Applicant may lead development projects or other developers / technicians. *POSITION REQUIREMENTS/TECHNICAL SKILLS:* BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. Deep understanding of Software Development and Quality Assurance best practices. Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks such as C# & ASP.Net AND/OR Java & J2EE, AND Web Services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. A minimum of 4 years experience in software architecture, design, and development. A minimum of 2 years in managing software development teams. Strong leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to drive results through others. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Extensive programming skills in Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 stored procedures, triggers and complex SQL queries. Experience with Visual Studio .NET 2005 & 2008. Certification, training or specialized skills in operating systems, networks, development environments, software design, coding and testing, and programming languages is preferred. Software development experience within the Entertainment software market. Knowledge of software development standards and protocols; such as PCI Compliance. Understanding and experience with agile software development principles. Object Oriented Design and Analysis experience preferred. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Local candidates highly preferred.
