Programming:

Position Title: UDB DBA on AIX UNIX (4 resources needed. One of each
described below*)
1. One pure UDB DBA with Strong SQL Tuning experience
2. One UDB DBA with SOX compliance experience
3. One UDB DBA with strong Database Design experience * physical design is
required, logical design is preferred.
4. One UDB DBA with Database Security and Compliance knowledge/experience to
perform Database IT general controls (this person will work closely with the
Enterprise Security Architects)

JOB OVERVIEW:
* This position needs to have hands on DBA experience and an understanding
of security and compliance to perform most of the Database IT general
controls.
* Performing compliance reviews, follow up on alerts, tracking security
patches/incidents, and enhancing logging and monitoring for the team.
* They will also be responsibilities on as primary DBA and secondary DBA on
some databases.
* Participating as a DBA expert on call production support as needed.
* Design Databases (or review application team design)logical (prefered) and
physical (required).
* Implement physical database.
* Enhance Database performance as needed.
* Provide advice to application team regarding SQL.
* Consult to application team as needed.
* Provide 7x24x365 production support, carry pager, have internet
availability for support role.
* Member of team to provide support to dozens of application teams.
* Participate in performance testing/certification/QA.
* Work with hosting provider on upgrades and database structure promotions.
* Understand and guide infrastructure requirements and implementation, file
systems, web application middleware.
* Document all work in change management and other tracking systems.
* Work with manager, team lead and peer DBAs.
* Greater than 40 hours (i.e. OT) required at times and after hours work
often required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plans, designs, develop, and implement moderately complex company
database(s).
* Identifies data definition, structure, long-range requirements,
documentation of database(s), and operational guidelines and protection.
* Implement complex logical data models and database designs, data access,
and table maintenance codes.
* Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and
other distributed data issues.
* Identify information flow, content issues, and translate business
requirements into logical data models.
* Responsible for the maintenance of database dictionaries and integration
of systems through database design.
* Establish database standards and guidelines.
* Install, configure, and manage databases.
* May participate in the on call rotation, monitoring service and problem
requests, and work with customer to resolve issues in database and
applications.
* Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database
management.
* Demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field*s concepts, practices, and
procedures.
* Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
* Performs a variety of complex tasks.
* A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
* May guide various groups on application systems activities.
Work under general directions; typically reports to a team lead or
supervisor/manager.
