We have an excellent position for Application Support Engineer: NYC, NY Please forward your resumes to [email protected] *Title:* *Application** Support Engineer* *Length:* *Long Term* *Location:* *NYC, NY* *Job Description and Skills Required* Strong and Recent financial client experience need The FIRM Risk IT team seeks a candidate with 4+ years of experience in application support. • Responsible for operations development / engineering and well management of the production environment for Firm Risk Management applications. • Monitoring, setting up and scheduling Firm Risk batch jobs, risk reports in production environment. Investigates production issues and resolve or escalate appropriately. Work closely with development team to analyze the issue. • Automates operational tasks. For example, LINUX file system and database archiving/purging • Creates tool to automate production monitoring. • Supports the creation and implementation of policies, procedures and tools that affect successful service delivery. • Provides application and environment training to offshore Application support analysts . Documents the processes, creates fixlog and runbooks. • Monitors performance and availability of hardware, services, and applications • Provides application, development and QA environment support to the project development team in order to ensure that system support is maintained during the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Setup the test enivornment and conduct testing of risk system front-to-end. • Automate the set up of the development and testing environments. • Integration of our production monitoring system with firm’s infrastructure. • Oncall rotation support. Skills Required • Possesses a university degree and 4 years+ experience in application support environment. Experience in supporting banking applications will be a big asset. • Possesses good knowledge of supported products and platforms (e.g., UNIX, Windows) • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Exhibits good problem solving • Service Excellence - ability to understand customer needs and expectations, provide excellent service • Decision making and problem solving skills *Skills Required:* Application Support (Must Have) UNIX Shell scripting (Must Have) PERL Scripting (Must Have) SQL (Must Have) * **Skills Desired:* Autosys DB2 UDB Mercury Quality Center Informatica ETL Java .NET/C#
