*Candidates must have experience supporting Oracle WebLogic Portal, Oracle
AquaLogic Service Bus (ALSB) and SharePoint 2007 and in addition MUST HAVE
solid IIS working experience.*

Job Description:
The Applications Support Specialist responsibilities include: maintaining
existing/new software applications; as well as identifying, troubleshooting,
and resolving application and systems issues. Specifically applications
within the Middleware Technology space, i.e. IIS 5.0/6.0 Websites,
SharePoint 2007, BizTalk 2006, Oracle BEA Portal/DSP/ALSB, Oracle UCM.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide operational support to development groups, resolve production
application and software issues.
Performs system software updates, system software maintenance and product
upgrades.
Work with other internal infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve
hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and
component configuration
Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility,
cost, time required, and compatibility with current system
Conducts system analysis, configuration management and develops improvements
for system software performance, availability and reliability.
Perform Incident resolution, Problem Determination and Root Cause Analysis
in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
Prescribes system backup / disaster recovery procedures and directs recovery
operations in the event of destruction of all or part of the operating
system or other system components.
Implements appropriate levels of system security.
Provides technical expertise for system transitions, migrations and
application software updates.
Provides technical assistance to IT support staff, including but not limited
to, DBAs, Network Engineers, Application Developers, and other System
Administrators.
As new technologies emerge that impact current systems, Specialist is
expected to pro-actively learn these technologies very quickly and resolve
any problems involved in integrating new technologies with our current
systems.
