*Oracle/SQL DBA:* *Location:* Chicago, IL *Duration:* 6 Months *Rate:* open *Candidates need to be EAD, GC or US Citizens* *Basic Function: * - Briefly summarize the purpose and objective of the position omitting specific duties. - Perform DBA maintenance tasks as directed by DBA Manager on Oracle and SQL Server environments. - Assist and support developers with Oracle application and SQL Server projects. *Primary Responsibilities: * - List all the key areas which occupy a major part of time on the job. - Be specific as possible. Attach a separate sheet if additional space is needed. - Perform oracle, SQL Srver installations, version upgrades and apply patches. - Manage Oracle and SQL Server Databases. - Assist development group in debugging and tuning PL/SQL code and stored procedures. - Write PL/SQL scripts to fix data issues that arise. - Generate ad hoc reports as requested. - Monitor and tune databases for optimal performance, this may include utilize database new features. - Maintain and monitor Oracle Application Server for Khameleon accounting system. - Maintain and monitor scheduled job in Grid Control including Document link: Bookmarks (6))de RMAN backups. - Maintain good environment structures, document changes and save all scripts in source safe. - Investigation and correction of problems, which arise in developed scripts and applications. - This includes determining problems as they occur, and making necessary programming changes or contacting Oracle support if need be. - Responsible for having a complete understanding of the business logic involved in table structures. - Adhere to development guidelines set forth by the IT department. - Ensure all code is tested before releasing to production. *Education, Knowledge & Experience Requirements: * - College degree in computer Science or equivalent experience - Must have command of the following skill sets: - PL/SQL, Oracle Replication, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle - Application Server, experience navigating Solaris OS, experience managing Oracle database and SQL server 2008. - Would be advantageous to know JAVA, C++, Oracle XML DB - Must be self starter, diligent an able to work occasional - overtime including on weekends. - Good verbal and written communication Skills. - High propensity to learn new technology from written material. - Organizational Relationships: Indicate the number of direct reporting relationships. - Reports the Database Manager. * * -- Thanks and regards, Chandu, [email protected], 918-398-9548, MNCL Inc.
