Title : Sr. Firmware Systems Engineer
Location : Irvine, CA
Duration : 12 months
Start Date : ASAP
Responsibilities:
Firmware development associated with a high performance, mixed-signal communication transceiver.
Development, debugging and maintenance necessary to bring firmware into production.
Ownership of firmware during validation, pre-production, and production phases.
Organize and oversee cross vendor interoperability testing.
Requirements:
Working DSP knowledge in digital filters, adaptive equalization and crosstalk cancellers typical in wireline applications such as DSL and ethernet.
Proficient at using state machines to architect, design and write well-structured C code targeted for an embedded microprocessor.
Experience with source code control and build/release procedures.
Must adhere to established coding guidelines and practices.
Expertise in the design, integration and test of embedded firmware for digital signal processing systems
Experience throughout the entire embedded firmware development cycle including specification, design, integration and test
Working knowledge of lab and test equipment including oscilloscopes, ICE, logic analyzers and waveform generators.
Methodical debugging skills and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of embedded microprocessors (C166, ARM, MIPs or 8051).
Knowledge of DSP cores (Texas Instruments, DSP group, or Analog devices) desirable.
Experience with Ethernet protocols and physical layer devices highly desirable.
