Title : Data Specialist
Location : Calagary, CANADA.
Duration : 6 + months
Start Date : ASAP
• Collect and load digital well data including logs, directional surveys and other specialized data.
• Participate in the development of workflows and processes to collect, QC and load directional survey data.
• Manage the digitizing workflows and work with external vendor to maintain standards and quality of digitized logs.
• Participate in process mapping and documentation of current workflows and use analysis to better data management processes.
• Locate missing well data, update out-dated or erroneous well data and facilitate correction of any such data within the master databases.
• Provide some database and well data process support for the users of applications such as Geolog and OpenWorks.
• Manage project requests for large volumes of well data and work with internal customers such as Data Analysts, public sources and vendors to deliver quality data to our customers in a timely manner.
• BSc in Geoscience or Diploma Exploration Technology and equivalent experience
• Excellent understanding of well log data and associated data issues
• Excellent understanding of directional data and associated data issues
• Understanding of Seismic data lifecycle and loading an asset
• Understand applications and data input/output routinely used by CPC business
• Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly
• Knowledge of data standards, guidelines, quality control and workflows
• Knowledge of data management techniques and principles - specific to well log data, directional data, and databases
• Knowledge of tools, scripts and techniques used for data integration, migration and manipulation
• Strong computer skills including the use of: Geolog, OpenWorks, Unix / Linux
