** *Job Description*: - *Strong Java developer resource with* *front end and backend skills*(UI design skills preferred) required for developing Java based EDI processes and GUI screens for the same. - Candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements from the IT team, designing required user screens and EDI output processes in a java development environment. - *Previous EDI experience is required * *Essential Skills:* - Web applications using various technologies including SUN Solaris, Java 2 Enterprise Edition framework, BEA WebLogic server with Portal and Integration, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, XML, SQL, iPlanet and Oracle database. - Pluses include CVS or equivalent version / source code control tool. - Experience in DB/2, Service Oriented Architecture is desirable. - Some exposure to RUP & UML or similar software development methodology is highly desirable. - Transportation/logistics industry experience -- - Experience with Highway, Intermodal and supply chain management systems with EDI and other B2B messaging with 3rd party partners are pluses - Developer needs to be experienced in design. - Good communication skills - Capable of working with minimal direction - Capable of working in an aggressively paced environment and able to recognize and escalate risks/issues immediately to the Project manager and stakeholders, as applicable.
