*Role:**: Visual Studio Team System ( VSTS) implementation consultant.* *Location: Sacramento and/or Orange County, CA* *Duration: 4-6 months weeks* Experience: On VSTS of 3-4 years should be a PM with PMP certification and Web SDLC experience of at least 7-10 years Require a Consultant who will provide review, guidance, mentoring and integration assistance for application development project in these *5 Target Areas of VSTS*: 1. Automated release management (build and deployment) 2. Web regression testing 3. Integration of Microsoft Project (MS Project) with VSTS for bug tracking management and team member task management 4. Upgrade of VSTS 2008 to VSTS 2010 5. Use of VSTS 2010 Unified Modeling Language (UML) *CONSULTANT TASKS:* 1. Provide expert level review and recommendations regarding each of the following items to be completed by Customer staff for the application: a. Automated release management (build and deployment) features of VSTS b. Web regression testing using VSTS c. Integration and customization for using MS Project with VSTS for task and bug tracking d. Integration and customization for using MS Excel with VSTS for bulk data operations. e. Configuration And Customization Plan f. Upgrade Plan for VSTS 2010 g. Use of VSTS 2010 UML features 2. Assist the tester to record all the web tests needed to run full regression testing on the application. 3. Provide technical consultation during the development, go live and post-implementation phases. Example areas would be troubleshooting a system anomaly and providing information on features customer may want to use or possible customizations. 4. Train 7 customer software development staff members in the use of VSTS, including the Information Technology (IT) manager, two program managers, two developers (programmer analysts), a Database Administrator (DBA) and a tester. Each staff member will be trained to use the features of VSTS applicable to their position. The program managers, DBA and developers should also be trained to back up the other positions. In later phases, provide technical recommendations and mentoring on the integration of VSTS 2010 features such as UML. 6. In later phases, provide technical advice on how customer could leverage additional functionality from VSTS. Customer will provide Consultant with Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to the necessary platform resources so most consulting services can be done remotely.
