Position: Essbase Consultant
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6+ months
Job Requirement:
a.. The primary responsibility will be to understand controllers' business
and functional requirements and to help develop technical solutions to these.
b.. In addition the candidate will be required to gain knowledge of the
existing system and product lines in order to support the system and
controllers who use it.
c.. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety
of challenging projects in the team, with a mix of both a functional and a
technical aspects and the opportunity to learn the business from experts.
d.. This is a developer role and candidates would expect to spend much of
their time on code development activities, working with the technology teams
and technical architects globally.
e.. However, the role also requires a significant amount of functional and
technical analysis, working closely with the Controllers user group in order to
gather requirements and produce designs.
f.. The remainder of the time would be spent on supporting new and existing
applications. In addition, candidates will be involved in first line user
support.

SKILL / EXPERIENCE
MANDATORY
a.. The following technical skills are considered mandatory:
b.. ESSBASE: entry-level to 5 years
c.. Working knowledge of Relational databases and SQL
d.. Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
e.. Practical and proven technical design and systems analysis skills, backed
up by real-project implementation experience using ESSBASE, EIS, database
architecture and modeling.
f.. Experience of working in Unix/Linux environment
g.. Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university
The successful candidate will also:
a.. Demonstrate strong problem solving & analytical skills. You are hands-on
and take ownership of issues to ensure follow-through; backed up by
real-project implementation experience
b.. Exhibit leadership qualities and strong communication skills
c.. Be comfortable working with a global group that both welcomes and
challenges new ideas
d.. Learn new concepts quickly
e.. Have a willingness to be involved in first-line user support
f.. Demonstrate the ability to partner and work with clients to deliver
benefit to the business
g.. Work and contribute in a team oriented environment
PREFERRED
The following technical skills are desirable:
a.. Unix / Linux
b.. Experience with DB2 UDB
c.. C or C++. Exposure to Oracle business intelligence toolset such as
Interactive Reporting, Financial Reporting
d.. Hyperion Financial Management
e.. Perl, KSH, or other scripting languages
f.. Working knowledge of Autosys
g.. Software development lifecycle proficiency and code management skills
h.. Experience with at least one code repository such as CVS
