Job Title: UNIX Administrator (2914)
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 6 Months
High Level Job Description:
- Work closely with the PepsiCo engineering and infrastructure team to help
build Unix expertise
- Define and implement verification and validation practices, standards and
processes in the Unix environments.
- Leverage existing processes and tools while identifying and improving gaps
to the EDI application.
- Maintain operations, gather metrics, monitor systems and troubleshoot
problems to ensure the integrity of production systems.
Job Description:
Excellent understanding of the UNIX operating system and how to properly
maintain it in a high performance environment
Broad technical and IT knowledge
Collaboration Skills/Partnering/Facilitation Skills
Ability to work in matrixed environment
Ability to solve complex technical problems through research and detective
work.
Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly
Skill Sets:
Required: UNIX
Required Qualifications
Ability to work collaboratively across project teams
Ability to plan and organize development work & deliverables
Knowledge of HP’s Service Guard and \ or VERITAS Cluster Solutions HA
solutions also a plus
Working knowledge of HP-UX 11.x O/S sysadmin required
Working knowledge of AIX 5.x / 6.x O/S sysadmin required
Working knowledge of Linux a plus
