 Location: *Will travel from their home office four to five days a
week. Position could require candidate to travel extensively.  There is the
opportunity for international travel if desired. *

Duration:* 4+ months*

Start: *ASAP*

Consultant Rate: *$45 max all-inclusive 1099*

Recruiter Finder's Fee:* $5.00 per hour*

   - *Requires a large amount of technical awareness, in particular a good
   understanding of the technology market. *
   - *Ability to resolve problems in the client's current business
   operations. *
   - *Wide awareness of technologies in terms of their characteristics as
   appropriate for the project work. *
   - *The ability to understand if solutions are feasible, workable and
   operable *
   - *Good presentation/negotiation skills are essential*
   - *The demand for the production of consistent design documentation
   demands effective written communication skills.*

 *PROJECT:*

   - *The client is a large, global consulting company.*
   - *The Solution Architecture team provides consistently designed
   technical infrastructures across many clients. It is a global organization
   with a presence in many countries including North America, Australia,
   Scandinavia, South Africa, UK and other parts of the European mainland. *
   - *The tasks performed by the team vary enormously in terms of size and
   scale and architects can expect to be engaged within almost every industry
   sector including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, aerospace, finance,
   petrochemical, utilities and automotive. Typical tasks performed by
   architects include:*


    - *Technology strategy work*
      - *Small and Large environment design *
      - *Large scale technology refresh*
      - *Technology infrastructure health checks*
      - *New technology assessment and selection*
      - *Performance engineering and capacity planning work*

*DUTIES:*

   - *The Solution Architect is involved at the beginning to understand the
   business drivers for the technical solution. *
   - *Initial design models are created but very much at a concept level
   containing only the basics of the technology. *
   - *The refinement process then takes place to proceed through logical and
   physical levels during which, the technical specialists (e.g. UNIX, NT,
   Networks etc) are brought in to deal with their respective areas. *
   - *The Solution Architect pulls all the elements together to ensure that
   the overall solution is derived consistently and all elements are integrated
   and will work efficiently together.*

*General Responsibilities:*

   - *Creation of technology designs within the project/account starting
   from business direction/technology strategy moving through logical to
   physical designs and acting in a guidance capacity during physical
   deployment. *
   - *Capture of client technical requirements and translation into
   technical architectures. *
   - *Solutions need to be both innovative and creative to the Client's
   requirements for both time scale and budgetary issues.*
   - *Capture of existing infrastructures from technical, business and
   service perspectives leading to health check exercises and recommendations
   for improvement. *
   - *Definition of technology solution and formal technology selection
   decisions to procure order. *

*Within a project responsible for: *

   - *Conducting project/account design reviews*
   - *Review a project design deliverables*
   - *Contribute to definition of "technical authority" and the associated
   standards of work *
   - *Define project/client technology strategy. *
   - *Maintenance of developing technology within the marketplace and
   identification of opportunities for deployment of new technologies.***
