Just got this from the hiring manager. Need resumes asap. Manager is planning to start interviews right away. LOCAL Candidates please Rate : $46/hr Visual Basic .NET Developer Job Description . Correcting a series of known bugs in a custom built VB.Net application . Unit testing the code that has been created/modified . Documenting the code as appropriate . Ensuring the final install package is ready to go . Supporting issues related to the code if they are found during user acceptance testing and implementation Related Skill set Desired . Strong Visual Basic.NET experience . Experience with interfacing of VB applications with local and network based (IP based) COM and LPT ports, including ports receiving continuous data as well as those attached to modems or printers. . Experience with interfacing of VB applications with other applications and/or plug-ins (RemoteWare, OPC clients and Kepware experience is a plus). . Experience working with applications that interface to a SQL Server database. . Experience with code that outputs to a line printer. . Candidate should be able to provide detailed estimates based upon the scope of work required . Candidate should be comfortable using a source code repository (checking code in daily, managing the versioning, etc). . Candidate should be comfortable keeping daily/weekly time and reporting this to the project manager as needed. . Experience in creating automated test scripts is a big plus as this will greatly improve our testing efficiency during regression tests. Notes . Once the main bulk of work is complete, it is expected that if code related issues are found as we start to roll out, the candidate will be able to address them on short notice. . The code in question is used heavily during the October - March timeframe, so all changes will need to be complete by early August in order to all rollout to complete before season starts.
