*Job Title*: TM1 OLAP Architect *Location:* Richmond, VA *Duration:* 9+ months Feedback on why other candidates have not been a fit is that they have only been strong on finance side. The Candidate must need to understand multi dimensional cube design, chart of accounts, and impact on server and infrastructure environments. Candidates to data have not been able to have an intelligent conversation around having the dimensions ordered in a particular way and be able to solve that problem and be able to monitor pieces of the architecture. Another problem is that they have only used TM1 at the department level as the product was really intended, but they need it at the large scale enterprise level and they need someone who has that experience. Reason for need: Additional need because of need to improve performance challenges and support of TM1 OLAP tool set. TM1 is a IBM/Cognos enterprise planning software, but the way they are using it now is more work group based as opposed to at a true enterprise level. They'd like to get the most out of the software. Don't have this level skill internally in terms of someone who really understands the business side well enough and can gather requirements and provide guidance to technical team based on requirements. Project Details / Big Picture: Improve support of TM1 OLAP tool and strengthen communications between business and BI team. * Daily Responsibilities:* - Interact with finance with finance systems team to gather requirements. - Work with less technical savvy business finance team members to agree to standards and design solutions that comply with those standards. - Provide feedback that design solutions are business beneficial. - Work as a liaison between business finance and IT teams to determine best design and provide guidance and direction to BI teams. - Provide ongoing review of BI architecture and make recommendations, changes, improvements as needed. *Required vs. Desired Skills:* - Extensive experience with TM1 - Strong architecture background - Experience in working with finance teams and supporting finance BI requirements. - Knowledge of financial industry is a must.
