*I have a requirement for a Systems Engineer in Madison, WI. This is with
State of WI and its a 3-year contract*.
Experience providing for standardization, configuration, testing,
administration, support, monitoring and maintenance for servers, applications
and network infrastructure as well as the related development of documentation
and processes as required. This role will function as a high-level technical
and customer support resource in the network and server consolidation processes
of this agency. Experience should include at minimum support of 1000 plus nodes
in a distributed state-wide environment. The candidate should be skilled in
prioritization of tasks and experience would be preferred in the realm of
technology infrastructure consolidation in both centralized and decentralized
environments. Must be capable of doing the research required to provide
recommendations for design and implementation, planning and system
administration for a wide variety of platforms and
applications. Must be able to participate in, and in some cases, lead small
projects or components of projects related to development of the resources
required to establish the IT Infrastructure of DCF. The candidate would be
expected to utilize industry standard best practices and methodologies and
provide knowledge transfer to other staff through both direct communication and
formal documentation. Experience with enabling uninterrupted day-to-day support
in 24x7x365 environments is preferred. Ability to work within matrix reporting
environment. Ability to meet budgeted and planned deliverables consistently.
Experience with HP products such as HP Blade Center solutions, HP EVA SAN
products and experience with VMWare and virtualized desktop delivery as well as
Windows 7 would be beneficial. Because the requisition covers 3 roles, the
qualifications cover a large group of skill sets that no single candidate is
expected to have. These roles will be key players in the implementation of an
entirely new technology infrastructure and therefore there will be a wide
variety of roles and responsibilities which they will be exposed to.
