POSITION TITLE: Project Manager – Sales & Trading Location : Broadway-NY, Duration : 6+ Months
Locals only Face to Face REPORTS TO: Operations Programme manager – Sales & Trading JOB DESCRIPTION – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Defines, documents and executes complex large-scale (>6 months / >10 FTE (equivalent of fulltime) staff) global projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. • Agrees terms of reference to enable costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to be estimated. • Prepares and maintains project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports as appropriate • Directs the implementation teams to complete activities in line with the project plan. • Holds regular project reviews. • Has responsibility to ensure project deliverables are demonstrably fit for purpose. Gain commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if costs, timescales or resources deviate from agreed tolerances. • Represents Technical Operations for the project change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project stakeholders and ensure full impact of significant changes are understood by project stakeholders. • Ensures all parties are aware of project scope and milestones. Highlights divergence from that scope, and adjusts it where necessary to reflect changing circumstances. • Maintains effective relationships with the entire project team • All Projects are for the Technical Operations Project Group and are specifically related to the Sales and Trading service. JOB SPECIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor degree with recommended > 5 years relevant experience or non-bachelor degree holder with recommended > 8 years relevant experience. In addition, professional certification such as APM or Prince 2 desirable. • Experience must demonstrate managing complex projects of various sizes, with external dependencies and teams based in multiple locations, to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget. • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. • Ability to challenge decisions which may compromise operational standards and requirements, but respond pragmatically and in the best interests of the company. • Ability to manage changing circumstances and priorities. • Flexibility to work outside of local office hours to meet the needs of managing global project teams. The candidate is expected to manage their workload to ensure that this is only required occasionally rather than being the norm. • Knowledge of Thomson Reuters is useful but not required. • The position will be working on infrastructure projects related to the deployment of Sales and Trading Content, including Hosted Market Data Sytems (HMDS), mobile applications and infrastructure support tools • Technical Experience of Servers, LANs, WANs, SAN’s, Management Systems and Enterprise wide Applications is useful.
