The candidate would be able to contribute to architectural discussions and provide recommendations to ensure a scalable design that can fulfill long-term performance goals. · Past experience should include the following, though not limited to Oracle database tuning including instance performance monitoring, tablespace utilization, schema object management, database capacity planning, "bottlenecks" and "offensive" SQL activity monitoring and resolution. - Strong SQL, PL-SQL, Index creation and rebuilds - Triggers, views and stored procedures - Database linking - DB tuning for databases such as Oracle, SQL server, Teradata, MySQL. Familiarity with ETL tools · Tuning experience related to shared pool, buffer cache, PGA and temporary space, memory management, I/O, block space usage, statspack · Hardware load balancing on RAC, shared storage (ASM, OCFS, Veritas)
