The candidate will be the technical liaison with a group working
for IT Operations to support the WIC network on a day to day basis. The
existing production system is running on a Microsoft platform using SQL
server. It interfaces with multiple FTP servers using Satellite and
Internet connections for processing legacy WIC applications. In addition,
the Worker will be the liaison with the Enterprise Architecture team, who is
also working for IT Operations, and will plan for the future vision of the
WIC network infrastructure and virtualization. The Worker will need to be
able to explain and document our existing systems, what hardware we have in
place, and how it interacts with each other and why, from a business
perspective. It is critical that the WIC program is represented and the
business needs are conveyed from a technical perspective.
The Worker may also review, analyze, and evaluate business
systems and user needs to formulate solutions that address business
strategies. Worker will prepare solution options, identify risks, and
perform required financial analyses. Worker will document detailed
description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop
or modify computer programs*. *
