Position: Software Test Engineer
Location: Broomfield, CO
Duration: 12 months
Job Requirement:
a.. Job responsibilities include:
b.. Extensive manual and automated testing on a Motorola OCAP platform on a
Motorola OCAP enabled head-end Traceability matrix generation / modification
Writing and maintaining functional and ad-hoc test procedures
c.. Requirements testing Ad-hoc testing Writing UNIX scripts to gather
essential logs / data for engineering analysis Isolation, identification, and
reporting of software defects.
d.. Formal test report generation on conclusion of a test cycle.
e.. Extensive manual testing Salary Range Negotiable.
f.. Commensurate with experience.
g.. Required Skills The following skills are required to be considered for
this position:
. Ability to automate test processes.
· Software skills - Java, Unix shell scripting, UNIX, database.
· Knowledge of how to configure the OCAP portions of a Motorola head-end
· Understanding of software test concepts and methodologies
· Understanding of distributed software systems
· Strong Unix OS and scripting background, especially with Red Hat Linux
· Strong communication skills and ability to work with others
· Ability to write reports and business correspondence using Microsoft
Office products.
· Ability to effectively communicate among team members and present
information and respond to questions from group managers, clients and customers.
Desired Skills The following skills are desirable in a candidate applying for
this position:
· Experience with the ANT build system
· Experience with installations via the Redhat Package Manager (RPM)
system a plus
· Experience in the cable or telecom industry
· Knowledge of Digital Cable or Digital TV technology
· Electrical / Electronics knowledge
· Knowledge of statistical methods
· Ability to design, construct and connect components and
instrumentation needed for basic device testing
