*Sr. SQL Server DBA * Location: Mt Laurel, NJ
* * *JOB FUNCTIONS*: - Administer all MS SQL Server instances of company. This includes various production environments as well as development and QA environments. - Remotely administer production SQL Server instances by working effectively with infrastructure hosting facilities. - Monitor production environments; perform trouble-shooting activities; perform various tuning activities. - Support SQL Server in a clustered environment. Perform necessary maintenance tasks. - Manage resource utilization of SQL Servers, and provide necessary proactive metrics and plans to optimize instances. - Setup and administer SQL Server replications. - Take part in development and maintenance projects; develop data models; optimize database designs. Write, review, and tune TSQL programs. - Work with on-site and off-site development team through the full Software Development Life Cycle. - Responsible for off-hour and extended-hour production support. *QUALIFICATIONS: * - Extremely conversant and thorough with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and above. Solid knowledge of the internal architecture and behavior of SQL Server functions is a must have as this position is responsible for designing and building complex transactional databases and data warehouses. - Must have strong hands-on ability to write, tune, and troubleshoot using TSQL. Should be able to recommend why certain constructs are more efficient over others. 2+ years of hands on experience is a must. - Must have 3+ years experience in managing production SQL Server instances in high volume mission critical transactional environments. - Must be proficient in working with ‘clustered’ environments.
