Role: DB2 DBA Developer
Duration: 6 month contract
Location: Durham, NC
Rate: $40/hr
Must hold H1-B
Major Financial Firm is seeking to add onto their technical team an
experienced DB2 DBA for z/OS systems who will be responsible for support of
Development, UAT and Production environments. Candidate will support
Production processing and provide technical assistance to Development teams,
perform requests for data copy over, review & implement table structure
changes and assist application teams with SQL tuning activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Support & maintenance of existing DB2 system infra-structure & application
databases
- Review logical data design & create new application tables
- Assist application teams with diagnosis of DB2 related errors
- Review application SQL for efficiency & provide advice for improvements
Maintain database backup, recovery & other scheduled DBA maintenance jobs.
5+ years experience as an application DB2 DBA on z/OS platform (V8 and/or
V9)
4 Year Degree
Working knowledge of JCL, COBOL, REXX & DB2 Connect
Working knowledge of DB2 Performance monitors (INSIGHT/DB2 or Omegamon/XE
for DB2)
Hands on experience with SQL performance & tuning
Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office products
