This position provides *production support* for the firm's 85 RPS and SharedServices applications including MyRetirementPlan, Synergy, TradeManager, Contribution Manager, IAS, REM, Client Application Inquiry and Advice. 2. These applications are complex in nature with many business rules and interfacing applications. 3. They also cover a vast array of technologies (Websphere, J2EE, Java, MQ Series, etc.). 4. These applications are used by our external participants as well as internal representatives in servicing our customers/clients. *Brief Position Description*: 1. The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert response to production issues and maintain existing service levels. 2. A candidate successful in this position is one that comprehends the highly specialized business knowledge that extends beyond the technical requirements of supporting java applications. 3. This includes the understanding of specfic business rules and complex data structures that drive the primary RPS systems, which is critical knowledge to prevent potential financial exposure. 4. This position has rotating oncall responsibilities which may include after hours or weekend work. 5. Candidates are responsible for troubleshooting system events and identifying root cause of events. 6. Being the first line of contact for production issues, this candidate is responsible for timely and thorough troubleshooting of applications and implementation of solutions. 7. The candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as interaction with various levels of management within IT and the business will be required. ** *Required Skills:* 1.
