Please send the Resumes to : *[email protected]* *Please send only matching resumes along with rate and contact details.* *Requirement Details : * *ROLE : Sr. Database Designer** ** **Location : Hartford, CT** * * **** **Duration : 6 months** * *REQUIREMENT DETAILS:* ** ** *Responsibilities:* Responsible for physical database design, including primary indexes, join indexes, views, security, secondary indexes, PPI, Referential Integrity and data skew Physical modeling of the atomic and publishing layer model for new projects Finalize physical model so DDL can be generated from Erwin when passed to DA for inclusion in version (new projects) Monitor and perform proactive tuning of system performance Monitor and perform proactive tuning of database to optimize performance Monitor system performance through real time alerts Analyze and interpret ongoing system performance metrics as compared to baseline metrics to make recommendations for improvement. Manage performance expectations Establishment/Execution/Enforcement of best practices in relation to impacts on performance. Create and maintain team standards and strategy for projects involving relational database development and virtual/physical datamart design. Act as database and SQL liaison and mentor for development team. Deep understanding of shared-nothing databases architecture and best practices. Communicate effectively with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel / management. *Primary Skills:* Minimum 7 years of database design work using shared nothing DBMS technologies, preferably Teradata. Minimum 7 years of designing high performance/scalable data warehousing applications. Teradata Master Preferred 5 years experience with design of ELT integrations for VLDB data warehouses. Extensive experience in performance tuning very large data bases 5+ TB (VLDB). Knowledge of OLAP reporting tools and their application to business analytics.
