merambah peluang hitek enterpreneurship di luar AS(baca: ASIA).Kabar
sangat bagus sebenarnya buat mereka yang ingin develop world class
VC ( seperti Web 2.0nya Bang Enda barangkali).

Globalization is giving birth to more and more entrepreneurs from
Bangalore, Shanghai and pretty much everywhere else worldwide.
Consequently, other valley venture capital firms, like Mayfield and New
Enterprise Associates, which are focusing primarily on China, are
following DFJ's lead in thinking globally.

How serious is he?

Draper flew to Ukraine to visit President Viktor Yushchenko and
badgered him about the country's bureaucracy, which forced
entrepreneurs wanting to start a new company to wait three years and
get approval from 32 government functionaries. Yushchenko pledged he'd
streamline the process to take five days and one bureaucrat. Pleased
with the response, Draper set about raising about $80 million in one of
the first VC funds in the Ukraine, expected to be announced next month.

Ukrainia ... wah!.

But in 1999, London investor Asad Jamal arrived in Silicon Valley,
arguing that advances in affordable communications and the unfolding
Internet revolution made a global VC firm more feasible. He just needed
a partner.
.....
During those boom years, most VCs invested as though Silicon Valley was
the center of the universe. Few thought investing in Asia or elsewhere
was worth their time, especially when they were making so much money
locally. Now the push is on globally.
