Role: Web Engineer Location: San Francisco, CA Rate: open Date resource is required: 10/01/2009 Anticipated end date: 03/31/2010 Line of Business: Internet Services Group Job Classification: Web Engineer Position Description: Experience Level: 10 or more years technical background and 6+ years directly related web engineering experience. Description: Consults at the highest technical level with clients and IT management and staffs enterprise-wide on design, planning, integration, implementation, scalability, problem definition and resolution of Web and e-commerce engineering issues involving the interrelated demands of hardware, software, telecommunications, security and control. Also consults on tactical topics such as system interfaces, integration of e-commerce with core business systems, systems availability and response targets, customer service and support. Defines and resolves problems related to widely different platforms, hardware, software, coding structures, communication protocols. Works with vendors and common carriers to resolve Web-related issues. Resolves connectivity issues and workflow problems. Recommends scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate Web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new Web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Web. Consults with staff responsible for determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes and response time and system availability targets. Keeps abreast of new technological developments. Conducts evaluations of new products and vendor proposals. PSG 3rd Level is responsible for supporting all ISG's products and services, which include three major Internet channels: Online Banking, Bill Pay, and Wells Fargo Public Site and it's affiliates. Each features different underlying technology, such as Dynamo, WebLogic, Documentum, and in-house development applications. To support the diverse technology, applications, and line of business requirements, PSG 3L level is on-call 24 x 7. The team also works on OS customization, certificate maintenance, setting up server support and server tape backups, and writing documentation to support our services. This individual will lead third level technical production support for the organization's online products and services to ensure maximum performance, availability and security. Uses DNS, diagnostic and customer simulation tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and/or restore service to the production environment. Identifies application and/or hardware/OS problems. Reroutes customer traff! ic around production problems, project implementations and application code updates. Provides regular on-call production support requiring quick response and coordination leading to problem resolution or escalation to 3rd level. Leads cross-group production support conference calls. Participates in writing and updating Business Continuation Plan and troubleshooting documents. Coaches and gives direction to less experienced web support engineers. *Minimum Qualifications *BS and 5-8 years of industry experience with the following software and monitoring tools: - Must have a least 1+ yrs of experience with HP OVO alarming and console services, Introscope, and system checkouts. - Must have at least 5 + years of experience with F5 Load balancing , Weblogic 8.x / 9.X/ 10.X, Sun One Web Server, IBM MQ series , Autosys NDM application and Netbackup software. On-call 24x7 experience for supporting over 300 servers in an Internet Banking environment. - Experience with SSL certificate! installation for SUN One and Weblogic using the keytool. - Ex! perience with Remedy for use with Change Request and Trouble Tickets. - Experience with RHEL 4.X / 5.X OS and SUN Solaris OS version 8/10 with tuning and troubleshooting using different tools like Dtrace , Teamquest is preferred.
