Yes, that is what I expected. Groovy Eclipse Plugin uses its own build
system
to create Groovy stub class and do the compilation.

Glad that you solved the problem by upgrading Groovy and thanks for
reporting
back. I am not very clear why the build suddenly broke. We will upgrade the
Groovy
version in our Maven build later.
