Template Migration from Jahia 4.04 to 4.5

Hi all,   we are planing to change the look of our web site by implementing a new set of templates together with a web design company. We are still running on Jahia 3.0 and i tried to migrate the templates to the new version 4.04, but its quite difficult because the template mechamism changed a lot from jahia 3.0 to jahia 4.0. Can anyone tell me if i can develop the templates under Jahia 4.04 and use them under Jahia 4.5 without having to redesign all the templates? or should we wait untill Jahia 4.5 is available??
