Benjamin,

This is indeed a good question as this feature is currently not supported in Jahia. It could be added by extending the functionality of the ContainerSorterBean to fetch and sort on the pagetitles for any pageids referenced in the containers.

A workaround would be to save the corresponding pagetitles for each pageids in your containers. You could then sort directly on the pagetitles. The problem with this approach is that any modifications of the pagetitles on the original pages (i.e. the ones referenced in the pageids of your container) would not transfer to the pagetitles in your containers. This would require an eventlistener to catch pagetitle related events and modify your containers.

Regards

Marc

Subject: Sorting container by page-link title field

I am displaying container list entries with the pagination tags and sorting. One field in the container is a page-link. In the table I am displaying the original title of the page, but when I click on sorting the table by this field, it sorts the page-IDs rather than the page titles, because the "value" of the field is the page-ID.

How can I sort by the page title?
