By actived do you mean the page with the container list on needs to be workflowed to live? If so then yeah this page and all contents is definitly workflowed to live and the code below returns null for the JahiaField.
I've tried newly created data and this also has the same issue. Whilst creating the container and before I workflowed the change, I viewed the preview tab, this mode didnt have the problem.
