In the last days There was a question about latex and pdf.
This evening I was experimenting with it, and i discovered that
it is not at all "easy" to generate pdf's on-the-fly at least with
Apache::Template.
I tried a very simple document,
<html><body>
[% TRY;%]
[% out = FILTER latex("pdf") -%]
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
xxx
\end{document}
[% END; out | redirect('/tmp/xxx.pdf') %]
<a href="/tmp/xxx.pdf">here it is</a>
[%CATCH -%]
<pre>
ERROR! Type: [% error.type %]<br>
Info: [% error.info %]
</pre>
[%END -%]
</body></html>
problems:
1) $ENV{PATH} is insecure in Template/Filters.pm
2) chdir is insecure in Template/Filters.pm line 712
after I patched this in some way:
3) OUTPUT_PATH is not set and I did not find a way of setting it.
hints?
