I'm just getting into TT and have the same concern. Looking at
Template::Provider, it appears that $Template::Provider::STAT_TTL could
be set to something arbitrarily large to avoid excessive stat calls.
For example:
use Template;
$Template::Provider::STAT_TTL = 86400;
...would reduce stats to the first load and once a day thereafter. Any
better (or preferred) solutions to this would be greatly appreciated.

Guys
Is there a way to disable the behaviour where TT Engine
compares the Timestamp of each file with the cached copy?
In production environments, we will not have Template Files
changing (without a server reboot) - so I don't want to pay
a penalty each time a template is rendered.
