That doesn't matter. If you're starting a new discussion on a mailing
list then you should start with a brand new email. You shouldn't just
reply to an existing email. Even if you change the subject line, your
email will still contain headers called 'References' and 'In-reply-to'
which mark it as a reply to a previous email. Modern email programs like
thunderbird and mutt can use these headers to display a threaded view of
a mailbox. Your reply which should have been a new email will appear
somewhere down the original thread and may well be ignored by people who
have decided not to follow the original thread.
So, it's always a good idea to start a new discussion with a new email.
