I've used PerlJax (now CGI::Ajax) and the HTML prototype library with TTK. I'm pretty sure there's a TTK plugin for Prototype on CPAN.

But I'd recommend you take a look at jQuery < http://jquery.com > -- it's lightweight, well documented, and handles Ajax (and much else) very nicely. I haven't had any trouble using it in conjunction with TTK.
