I'm a proponent of Seaside on all four major Smalltalk platforms. Each has
advantages and disadvantages, but choice is good, and Seaside code is
completely portable between them. Imagine if we had such choices with Perl!

GNU Smalltalk - file-based, command-line driven
Squeak - free licensed, mature GUI, cross platform
VW - commercially supported, mature, many platforms
GemStone/S - commercially supported, massively scalable, inherent persistence

Yes! Choice. Just because I'm a Squeak Foundation board member, and my
friend Monty runs GemStone/S, doesn't mean I don't appreciate the choices.
