Value is subjective. Catalyst is the modern framework used for Web Deployment. It does cover a great deal of ground... MVC, DBIC, Moose, Authentication and Authorization, REST, TT and other User Interface Components, etc. If you judge value based on the number of pages, consider the "Bible" books that litter the book stores.
