9th ANNUAL ARTISTS AGAINST RAPE June 3rd, 2005 @ Brava Theater Center

ARTISTS AGAINST RAPE is a night of spoken word & performance bringing together community members speaking out against violence & sexual assault. It is a night of healing through the arts.
SFWAR provides resources, support, advocacy, and education to strengthen the work of all individuals and communities in San Francisco that are responding to, healing from, and struggling to end sexual violence.
SUBMIT YOUR WORK. We invite interested performers to submit your poetry, song, music, visual art, etc. Please go to our website www.sfwar.org to print out the submission form and read over the requirements.
We especially encourage submissions from women of color, immigrant women, youth, elder women, queer women, transgender and genderqueer people, poor and working class women, first time performers, differently-abled women, and sex-workers.

_____________________________________________________ Note that due to space limitations not all submissions may be accepted. *selection of performers is at the discretion of the selection committee. ** Recordings for poetry, prose, songs, and music, (vhs or cd) are requested along with the printed words or lyrics. Visual artists can submit work/proposal of work to be projected on a large screen with visuals and text or just visual images in any medium.
