Double Vision call for dancers
Seeking:
MODERN DANCERS
* with a strong foundation in ballet and modern dance
* interest in dancing:
-on stage
-in gallery installations
-on video, or
-with technology (i.e. sensors)
DOUBLE VISION is a collective of performers, musicians, dancers,
video-artists, and technology aficionados. Together, we create events
and immersive environments utilizing unconventional spaces or
transform conventional spaces through unconventional means. One of
our primary objectives is creating links between the physical world
of dance and digital worlds using computers, sensors, networks and
custom-designed software interfaces.
Since are formation in December 2003, we have performed over twenty
times at various venues throughout the Bay Area, including, Dance
Mission, 848, Jon Sims, WORKS/San Jose, Black Box, Oakland Metro,
Shotwell Studio, and the Luggage Store. Additionally, DOUBLE VISION
has curated and presented new work in New York City, Albuquerque, Los
Angeles, the WWW, and will be featured in the upcoming PBS series
"Meaning of the 21st Century," scheduled to air nationally in Sept.
2005.
We are now beginning work on our fall season, which will include
premiere collaborations, dance pieces, multimedia pieces, movement
installations, dance for camera and much more! In addition to
performing in the Bay Area, we will be performing at residenies and
other events throughout the U.S.
