I promote shows on Tuesdays and Sundays at the Stork Club in Oakland, 2330 Telegraph Avenue, 1/2 block from West Grand Avenue. PLEASE READ: (1) Do not contact the Stork Club about this message; they already have their hands full with other things. (2) I book UNUSUAL acts, mainly musical acts. I do NOT book rock, soul, or singer/songwriter unless you can convince me it's DAMNED good! If you have a rock band, consider replacing the guitars with tubas and you'll have my attention. Think ODEON -- I used to promote shows there, so you know it's gotta be something unusual. (3) I'm looking for SHOWS, meaning, I'm interested in you if you have flair, if you do something unusual, if you can hold an audience's interest for 50 minutes, spellbind them, make them wonder. I don't want you if you're just going to stand around and look bored. I'm looking for entertainment. (4) Since I also occasionally book trade shows and parties, if you're good enough I'll consider you for future well-paying stuff. (5) Send me MP3s, press materials, useful jpegs showing your band or your principle performers. (6) BUT, since MP3s don't tell the whole story (live performances are way different from MP3s), it's best to comp me for some show you're doing somewhere so that I'll be able to see what you do live and in person.
