WE PUBLISH
Prose, short fiction, and poetry from female writers who live or have
lived in San Francisco, California.

Our contributors for Volume One included a performance artist, an
attorney, a waitress, and several journalists. We are dedicated to
publishing a wide variety of writers, whether you have never been
published before or are an established author.

HOW TO SUBMIT
Email submissions only, please. Email to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] as Word or Open Office documents
with a .doc extension.

YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION
Should be on your submission as well as in your email. Please include

if you include one.

AUTHOR BIOS
Please include a brief biography with your submission.

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED WORK
Cannot be published in Defenestration.

PAYMENT
Defenestration's current budget only covers printing costs. However,
we would LOVE to be able to pay our writers (and ourselves) and are
patiently searching for funding that would allow us to do so.

RESPONSE TIME
After the 11/15/06 deadline, our staff will be reading submissions
for several months. We will complete our selection process and
respond to all writers in early 2007.

READING DEFENESTRATION FIRST

Francisco Beat Museum and Defenestration reading events, or can be
obtained by emailing [EMAIL PROTECTED]
