ACCORDION player needed ASAP for Nov 10, 11, 17, 18 TANGO LA MELODIA
multimedia performance!
Following on the success of our sold-out August performances, we are
doing four more performances of TANGO LA MELODIA at EXIT Theatre, Nov
10, 11, 17, 18 at 8pm. The show features, live Tango/Gypsy Jazz/
Americana music, silent film, and live dance. We had a great
accordion player who, unfortunately, can't play because of
tendonitis, so we need to find an accordion player this week. We
need someone fast and confident, who can learn the 12 songs in which
the accordion plays (there are about 18 total songs, some of which
are duets, etc), and play them with style and charisma. It is a
really fun show, and there is pay available.
The band will rehearse on this Sunday and the following Sunday from
1:30-4pm, and there is a tech rehearsal Wed 11/8 5:30-8pm, and a
dress rehearsal Thursday 11/9 from 5:30-8pm. The accordion parts are
fairly straight-forward, and I could show them to you in 1 or 2 get
session before the rehearsals. There are also recordings and sheet
music/chord charts for the songs.
You can find video clips, mp3's, photos, and more info at:

Last time our show was covered in the Chronicle, SF Weekly, and The
Onion. We are expecting press coverage and sold-out shows for these
performances as well. I have included some more information below.
The website is probably the best way to get a feel for the show.
If you are interested, please contact me right away!
Thank you,
Brent Bishop

TANGO LA MELODIA is a live concert and multimedia performance set in
a world of Tango, Gypsy Jazz, and faded Americana. The performance,
which will be August 11&12 at the EXIT Theater, is an audio/visual
spectacle combining live music, projected film, live dance, beautiful
sets, and theatrical elements. From the moment the audience steps
into the theater, they are transported to a concert from a dream-like
past where the worlds of Tango, Gypsy Jazz, Cabaret, Vaudeville,
silent film, and the speakeasy atmosphere of the Roaring 20's blend
seamlessly together.
The show consists of two 45 minute sets with an intermission,
with original songs, film, and choreography from collaborators Brent
Bishop and Paige. Brent Bishop is a filmmaker, composer, and
performing artist. His first major multimedia performance, "Melodia",
played to sold-out audiences in May 2004. Paige is a singer/
songwriter currently in production on the followup to her successful
debut cd. Her music has won over audiences at such venues as Cafe Du
Nord, the Great American Music Hall, Slims, and the Hotel Cafe, Los
Angeles.
Brent, Paige, and Carly perform in character as the theatrical
band's front people. The band is in costume, but acting is not
required. The songs are beautiful and passionate, but fairly straight-
forward in structure and easy to learn.
