Steve,
I will certainly consider your request for v7. That said, I’ve also hope to include a direct excel file output mechanism, something that would convert an array to the .xls format. There are some tools available that do this, and I plan to get it into v8. In the meantime, the basic conversion of an array to csv is this: <@VAR array aprefix=’’ asuffix=’’ rprefix=’’ rsuffix=’’ cprefix=<@DQ> csuffix=<@DQ> csep=, rsep=<@CRLF>> The problem is if your data may contain the double quote character, in which case it needs to be doubled. This is effectively the encoding that you are asking for. This code should handle that task: <@ROWS array=array> <@COLS> <@ASSIGN array[<@CURROW>,<@CURCOL>] <@REPLACE <@COL> <@DQ> <@DQ><@DQ>>> </@COLS> </@ROWS> Robert From: Fogelson, Steve [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, June 07, 2013 1:30 AM To: [email protected] Subject: TeraScript-Talk: New encoding method Hi Robert, Would you consider a new encoding method of “excel” that could be used to format a text field to place in a csv file that would be read correctly by Excel?
