I am operating in a fairly unusual environment for development, but am hoping someone can spare me a hint ..
Mavericks (Mac OS X 10.9) Terascript 7 testing against Oracle (10g) running under Parallels VM (Leopard) I did not encounter the database connection drop described below with Lion/Mt Lion and Terascript 6 and running against the identical VM. I do not encounter this issue with my J2EE instance (Witango servlet). The issue? Terascript 7 appears to find the connection to the Oracle server very "slippery" and constantly drops the connection with a "socket timed out". The only remedy is to restart the Terascript server (which has a fairly slow restart compared to other Witango/Terascript servers, too). That is, if I am reworking some html or debugging tafs/tcfs with the editor for say 10-15 minutes or so -- dead connection when I return to make a request via the Terascript server. I am presuming that this issue is solely due to my VM call (as opposed to calling a standalone Oracle instance). (Actually I am *really* hoping that it is just my weird environment.) But is there anything I can tweak in the server.ini to prevent this from happening? Or increase the amount of time I am allowed before the connection goes south? _______________________________ Dale Graham, PhD Consultant, NIH Intramural DataBase [NIDB] Mind Over Machines [email protected] ---------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, please send an email to [email protected] with "unsubscribe terascript-talk" in the body.
